These shutters were my Valentine's Day gift from Tom. :) They are based on a DIY project I had pinned from the Blooming Homestead blog. Tom adjusted the measurements and scaled them down a bit so the shutters would fit the area we were putting them in.
At first I thought I wanted the shutters to be opaque white, but decided on a more weathered look so the natural wood color and knot holes would peek through.
Here's a look from above where you can see them hanging above a bench Tom made last year (his first woodworking project) for our front hallway.
Here's a close up, complete with a wreath we had on hand. I plan on changing out the wreath each season.
It's nice to have a handy husband. I think I'll keep him. LOL!
