I'm having a great time getting vintage photos scrapped! I'm finding that I don't always need the story behind the photos (although that would certainly be nice). It's interesting enough to me to record family history and to trace the genealogy back a few generations. That information is in the polka dot envelope.
This is a picture of my paternal grandmother (at the age of 7) and one of her brothers. She had six siblings (three brothers and three sisters). Her parents (my great grandparents) immigrated to the U.S. from Russia and Austro-Hungary. Both were born in the mid-1870s. My great grandfather was a furrier and my great grandmother was a homemaker (that's what they called a stay-at-home mom in those days). If you look at the photo closely, you can see that my grandmother AND her brother both have bow-shaped garters holding up their socks. I thought that was really cool.
